Across the tested application programming interfaces (APIs), EDICOM appeared in five of eight Gemini API answers to e-invoicing supplier questions for the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and in none of eight OpenAI API answers. InvoiceNow Biz and TronStride each appeared in three OpenAI answers and one Gemini answer. The same questions produced different sets of names.

For a provider's CEO or commercial leader, the useful question is where your company appears when a prospective customer looks for a supplier. A name in one channel's answers does not establish its presence in another. This snapshot gives you a dated comparison and the exact questions behind it.

Key point: Revolead submitted eight non-branded English questions once to each of two search-grounded APIs on 13 October 2026. All 16 answers succeeded, with zero failed or skipped observations. We counted names in answer prose separately from the sources behind the answers.

A prospective client can read an AI-generated answer inside Google before clicking a supplier's website. That makes the description of your offer in an answer relevant alongside your position in traditional search results.

In his Alphabet Q2 earnings remarks, published on 23 July 2025, Sundar Pichai said Google's AI Overviews had over 2 billion monthly users across more than 200 countries and territories and 40 languages. This is Google's global report from that date, not a measurement of UAE e-invoicing searches or a claim that every search includes an AI Overview.

Our article Google vs. ChatGPT. And the winner is…, dated 11 October 2026, discusses the commercial priorities of these search and assistant journeys. For this study, we used the OpenAI web-search API and the Gemini API with Google Search grounding. Neither is a capture of consumer ChatGPT or Google AI Overview.

8 questions a customer could ask before choosing a provider

These are the kinds of questions a prospective customer could ask while seeking a recommendation, building a shortlist or preparing to appoint a supplier. They cover smaller implementations, enterprise resource planning (ERP) integration, multi-entity operations, cost and local support, Peppol connectivity and a request for proposal (RFP).

We wrote the examples and submitted the following strings exactly as shown. They are non-branded: no provider names or vendor websites were included. They are not customer transcripts or evidence of how often people search for these topics.

  1. Which e-invoicing service providers should a business in the UAE shortlist, and how should it verify their accreditation status?
  2. How should a UAE company choose an e-invoicing provider before its applicable selection deadline?
  3. Which e-invoicing providers are suitable for a small business in the UAE that needs a simple, affordable implementation?
  4. Which e-invoicing providers should a large UAE company consider if it needs integration with an existing ERP system?
  5. Which providers can support UAE e-invoicing for a business with multiple legal entities and cross-border operations?
  6. How can a business in Dubai compare e-invoicing providers on total cost, implementation time and local support?
  7. Which e-invoicing service providers should a business in Abu Dhabi consider for Peppol connectivity and UAE compliance?
  8. What should a UAE finance team include in an e-invoicing provider RFP, and which providers could meet those requirements?

A simple method you can repeat

Start with the questions a prospective client could ask before choosing your company. Submit those client questions to each AI channel, save the complete answers and record which companies appear and which sources support the answers. Compare each channel separately. To measure change, ask the same client questions again and record the date and conditions of the new test.

We completed the first observation of that process here. Each API received these eight questions once. Question 1 served as a probe; after it succeeded, we submitted questions 2 to 8. We did not repeat the basket or select a more favourable answer. A future rerun could show whether these counts changed, but would not by itself explain why.

Which names appeared most often

Black ChatGPT-model mentions and blue Google AI mentions add to each offering's combined total across sixteen answers.

Figure 1. Source: Revolead / revolead.ai. Observation date: 13 October 2026. Each bar shows the combined total across 16 answers, with eight answers per channel. Black represents ChatGPT-model mentions; blue represents Google AI mentions. Offerings are sorted by total, highest first; ties are alphabetical. Every offering with at least three combined mentions is included. Each appearance is counted once per offering per answer.

We coded 64 normalized offerings across the answers. OpenAI named 29 distinct offerings and Gemini named 43; eight appeared in both sets. Six of eight OpenAI answers and seven of eight Gemini answers named at least one coded offering.

The 64 names are a coding result, not a count of UAE providers. The answers include software, middleware, accounting and payment tools, advisory partners and backends, as well as supplier options. Taxilla's one OpenAI occurrence, for example, came from an answer naming it as Horizon EBS's backend service provider, not separately shortlisting it. These counts are prose mentions, not verified recommendations, accreditation or a vendor-quality ranking.

Names and sources tell you different things

A supported-source appearance means a domain was referenced by an explicit grounding support in the saved answer. We counted it once per domain per answer. A page present only in the consulted-source list did not qualify.

API and offeringAnswers naming the offering in proseAnswers with its domain as a supported source
OpenAI: InvoiceNow Biz / invoicenow.biz3/84/8
Gemini: EDICOM / edicomgroup.com5/84/8
Gemini: Sovos / sovos.com3/86/8

Sovos was named in three Gemini answers, while sovos.com appeared as a supported source in six. Source frequency does not show that a page supported a recommendation of that provider, that its claims were correct or that each prose mention was supported by the company's own website.

Gemini retained 24 unresolved redirect URLs among 125 supported-source entries. For unresolved sources with an exact domain-form title returned by the API, we used that title as a flagged domain label. Those destinations were not independently resolved. OpenAI retained 62 supported-source entries without those Google redirect issues. Entry counts are not unique domains or search volumes, and the prose-mention chart does not depend on source-domain labels.

We reviewed all 16 complete answers and counted each normalized offering at most once per answer. Named options, concrete examples and implementation partners were included. Source-link titles, web addresses and background lists of compatible ERP systems were excluded. Visible name and product variants were merged under declared coding rules; Thomson Reuters and Pagero, for example, share one group. Every counted occurrence has a checked excerpt in the research ledger.

UAE context came from the English question wording. We did not set an explicit UAE search geolocation or test Arabic questions or account personalization. Gemini's recorded model is an alias, not an independently resolved build identifier. The software used to call each API may retry internally; exact network-attempt counts were not recorded.

How far the findings go

This is a small, operator-chosen question basket, not a random, representative or search-volume-weighted sample. With one observation per question/API, we measured no repeat-run variance or trend. The counts describe this basket on this date.

The offering universe includes examples and partners, not solely Accredited Service Providers. We did not verify the answers' accreditation, legal, pricing or implementation claims; some were inconsistent or accompanied by irrelevant source links. Use official records and provider evidence for supplier due diligence.

We measured no market share, customer demand, traffic, enquiries, conversion or revenue. The study does not establish what consumer ChatGPT or Google AI Overview would answer, why a name appeared, or whether content caused visibility or customer acquisition.

Use the baseline alongside your sales evidence

For your commercial team, keep the channel, question and observation date with each result. Record a prose mention separately from a supported source, and distinguish failed observations from answers that omit your name. That gives a future comparison a consistent starting point.

Use sales conversations and your own search data to decide which questions deserve investment. The basket offers examples to test; it does not establish demand. Check whether your offer's compatibility, onboarding, support and total-cost information helps a prospective customer assess fit, then track qualified enquiries separately from visibility.

Revolead helps business-to-business (B2B) providers win qualified enquiries from Google and AI search through done-for-you acquisition. We connect buyer questions and supporting pages to a clear enquiry path, recheck visibility and track qualified enquiries where attribution is available. Your team validates product, accreditation and delivery claims. This research is an exploratory baseline, not a customer-result case study.
